Served as the Director, VFX Supervisor, Screenwriter, and Lead Compositor for a SCAD collaborative commercial, leading the project from concept through final delivery in just 10 weeks. Managed a multidisciplinary team of 2 animators, 4 VFX artists, and a DP, overseeing the complete production pipeline, including pre-production, filming, editing, visual effects, color grading, sound design, and final delivery. My primary achievements were time management, resource planning, and team leadership, ensuring every milestone was delivered on schedule while maintaining a high-quality standard. The commercial received excellent feedback from professors, mentors, and teammates, recognizing both the final result and the effectiveness of the production process.
Production ProcessThe project began with my original concept and screenplay, followed by the development of storyboards, mood boards, and detailed animatics. To streamline production, I created animatics with accurate camera metadata, including camera positions, sensor size, focal length, and scene scale, allowing us to previsualize shots and plan the VFX pipeline before production. The hero bubble asset was developed in Autodesk Maya by one of our 3D artists under my supervision. During this phase, I also supervised multiple 3D scanning tests to evaluate the most effective workflow for integrating real-world assets into the visual effects pipeline. From the earliest stages, my focus was on building an efficient production workflow that minimized technical issues during principal photography and post-production while keeping the project on schedule.
